1) High Protein Diet Is Bad For Kidney And Bones
A few misinformed people claim that if your diet is high in protein, it will lead to weaker bones. While this judgment is based on the short term effect of a high protein diet, the long term effects are exactly the opposite. According to a study published by the Department of Allied Health Sciences, University of Connecticut, dietary protein works synergistically with calcium to improve calcium retention and bone metabolism. In fact, it is dangerous to have a low protein diet. Now, as far as kidney damage is concerned, studies suggest a totally opposite view here as well. There is no association between a high protein diet and kidney damage. In fact, a high protein diet reduces the risk of kidney failure and diabetes.
2. Low Fat Food Is Good For Health
When you go out for grocery shopping, you always try to look for the product that says low fat. It's not your fault. The industry has fed you such nonsense. The market for low fat or zero fat products is pretty hot these days. But have you ever wondered what else is there in these low fat foods? When they remove the natural fat from the product, the product becomes tasteless. The place of fats is then taken by added artificial sweeteners to compensate for the taste. Artificial sweeteners like aspartame and high fructose corn syrup are not at all healthy, to say the least.
3. Low Fat Is Better Than Low Carbs
People generally think that fat makes them fat. As a result, they start eliminating fat from their diet and mindlessly replace the calories from fat with calories from carbohydrates. However, it is the carbohydrates that they need to be more cautious about. Studies support the view that a high fat and low carb diet is healthier and a better way to lose fat weight. Also, high fat diets have shown to lower blood pressure, blood sugar, increase HDL (good cholesterol), lower triglycerides and etc. The only condition is that you need to have good fats in the form of nuts, fish oil, egg yolk etc.
4. Eggs Are Not Good For Health
People avoid eggs, especially the yolk. The myth is that the yolk increases cholesterol levels. However, the truth is that dietary cholesterol increases your HDL (good cholesterol) and is not responsible for heart diseases. High cholesterol diets are also potent testosterone builders. Eggs are a very nutritious and a delicious way of consuming your dietary macros and should be a part of your daily healthy diet. You will not get fat eating eggs unless you are eating way over your calorie allowance.
